Wolfowitz Lawyer ploy doesn’t fly with World Bank Committee
It looks like Wolfowitz’s ploy of hiring a lawyer to bolster his position as World Bank President has backfired.
The special committee of the World Bank has refused to meet with Wolfowitz’s lawyer, which in my opinion just reinforces the fact that this an internal World Bank policy issue, and not a legal one.
The newly appointed lawyer has expressed concerns that Wolfowitz won’t be treated fairly by the special committee looking into allegations of misconduct when he bypassed World Bank Policy and promoted his girlfriend.
Funny how his song changes now that the shoe is on the other foot. A month ago he was brazenly indignant about the accusations against him in this matter. Now he hires a lawyer to protect his phony-baloney job, and has issued an e-mail to staff appealing for patience and said he was making “major changes” to address concerns over his management.
Major changes, huh? Sounds like he has gone into major ass-kissing mode to protect his job.
Face it Wolfowitz; You screwed yourself. Deal with it!
