The US Committee of Futility is hiring!
In what is considered a drop in the bucket of the mountains and deserts of Iraq, the US State Department has a plan. A stupid, futile plan, but we’ve come to expect those from this administration.
In an effort to stop illegal immigrants from crossing the borders into Iraq, the State Department is looking for a few good men to “mentor” Iraqis to guard their borders.
Key word here is “few.” The State Department figures 120 experienced Border Patrol Agents should do the trick! The 13,000 or so US Border Agents are doing a crack job stopping the flow of illegal entries from Mexico and Canada into the States, so 120 agents protecting the Iraqi boarders will be like taking a nap for these seasoned veterans!
Does anybody in the State Department know what a “map” is? Do they know that Iraq is in the Middle East, and not a suburb of Wichita? Do they realize that Iraq is mostly a DESERT?
The border with Iraq is approximately 1,458 km long. What does the State Department expect 120 Border Agents to do? Stretch out the velvet ropes and spray a line in the sand and tell people to wait for the next available Agent?
Here’s a better plan. Take down the “Now Hiring” sign; keep the Border Guards in the US where they can concentrate on the Canadian and Mexican Borders first.
