Wolfowitz needs to go away, Quickly!
I was sick and tired of listening to Paul Wolfowitz’s reasons for keeping his job as head of the World Bank. Now I’m sick and tired of listening to his pleas to be treated fairly.
It’s infuriating to watch this drama unfold. After being found guilty of conflicts of interest, by a group of his peers, rather than being honorable and stepping down, he claims he is the victim of a “smear campaign!”
Get over yourself Wolfowitz! The only smearing going on around you, is the spit you drag through your hair to keep your comb-over in check!
Regardless of what he says, or thinks about himself, he’s guilty as charged. Everybody knows he used his influence to get his girlfriend, Shah Riza, a nice big fat raise and promotion.
In a quote from the New York Times, Wolfowitz declares he had been “held up to public ridicule” and “caricatured as a “boyfriend” who used his position of power to help his “girlfriend,” Mr. Wolfowitz said that “for the sake of the bank, and for your sake, this process has to be fair. I implore each of you to be fair in making your decision, because your decision will not only affect my life, it will affect how this institution is viewed in the United States and the world,”
Fair? Now he thinks he should be treated fairly? He’s worried about the bank’s image as it’s viewed in the United States and the World, when he’s the one who’s tarnished it! What the hell is wrong with him? Does he have some sort of chemical imbalance that we should know about? He brought this whole mess upon himself, and now he wants to be able to ride off into the sunset like a white knight! Once again, get over yourself Wolfowitz!
So now that the cat is out of the bag, he wants to “negotiate” his resignation! Or rather the Bush administration wants to negotiate his resignation!
We all know that corruption breeds more corruption. So now all of a sudden the Bush administration is acting as Wolfowitz’s negotiating team, claiming that if the board cleared Mr. Wolfowitz of misconduct, or at least said he acted in good faith and was not corrupt, the administration , which previously had rebuffed all suggestions that he resign , would talk about him stepping down.
In a statement from the White House, spokesman Tony Snow claimed, “The fact is that he made mistakes. They are not, in our view, firing offenses.” Coming from the Bush camp, of course they are not firing offenses! Neither were Cheney’s, Gonzales’s, Rove’s, or a handful of other Bush cronies” corrupt actions! But we”ve come to expect this from Bush, so it’s of little surprise.
The bottom line is Wolfowitz needs to go. Not on his (or Bush’s) terms either. Someone needs to be waiting for Wolfowitz in the parking lot tomorrow morning when he arrives for work, and immediately serve him with his walking papers. Then have security bitch slap him and escort him to the rock of obscurity where he can sit and wait for the rest of the corrupt “Bushies” to join him.
