Remember the days when preparing for the new school year included new pens, notebooks, binders and shoes? Well, sadly the times they are a changin’.

Today, the hottest selling item for back to school necessities is a bulletproof backpack. Yes, you heard that right, a bulletproof backpack!

In light of the recent tragedies at Columbine and Virginia Tech, a company had developed a ballistic bookbag.

MJ Safety Solutions has developed, for the first time ever, a full size, lightweight ballistic protection back pack that is affordable and practical.

The adult-size bag comes in two styles and contains a 20 oz. ballistic panel similar to those worn by the police and military. It can be worn on the back for protection or held in front of the torso and head as a shield. (Due to a flood of requests, production of a smaller size pack suitable for elementary school children, is also being considered.)
