August Fools Day? Chertoff to replace Gonzales?

I’m not sure what to make of this news report that rumors from the hill are saying Gonzales will be replaced by Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff

This can only mean one thing. Bush is running out of “Bushies” to do his dirty work.
If, and that’s a big “IF” this rumor is true, then who exactly would take over the position of Homeland Security Secretary? If it’s a straight swap of office chairs, Abu going to Chertoff’s former office, then we are doomed!

Limbaugh, the Conservative Tool

Rush Limbaugh has said some pretty stupid, false, distorted things before, which is to be expected seeing as he is nothing more than a mouthpiece trying to further the misinformation machine of the Conservative regime, but now he has taken the cake with his latest “gospel.”

On his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh claimed that Democrats “want to get us out of Iraq, but they can’t wait to get us into Darfur.” He continued: “There are two reasons. What color is the skin of the people in Darfur? It’s black. And who do the Democrats really need to keep voting for them? If they lose a significant percentage of this voting bloc, they’re in trouble.” A caller responded, “The black population,” to which Limbaugh said, “Right.”

Right, Limbaugh is a tool! By implying that the Democrats are interested in Darfur only to “secure” the black vote here in America, that must mean that the Republicans must maintain the “cracker” vote to stay in power!

Seeing as Rush has dumbed this down to a black and white issue, it seems that the military might of America can only be used to invade “brown” countries to secure “our” oil supply. But if a country like Darfur, which is a “black” country, needs our military assistance to stop genocide of its people, we should turn a blind eye because they have nothing to offer us in return!

Seeing as Rush is the mouthpiece for all things Conservative, it’s apparent that oil is more valuable than human life. Therein lies the flaw of the entire Bush/Conservative war mongering machine; Oil is more important than human life.

As for the caller who asked Rush to “enlighten” her on the Darfur issue, his “enlightenment” is like taking a laxative to cure a headache.

Next time Rush feels the need to share his “enlightenment”, hopefully he will take a seat on the throne of truthfulness and flush whatever comes out of his mouth!
Read about it here.

Another resignation from the DOJ. Is the writing on the walls getting bigger?

The head of the Justice Department’s civil rights division announced Thursday that he was resigning, the latest in a long string of departures from the department in the midst of a furor over the leadership of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

The department said that the resignation of the official, Assistant Attorney General Wan J. Kim, had nothing to do with the recent controversies over Mr. Gonzales’s performance, and that Mr. Kim had been planning his departure for months.

I think Mr. Kim’s conscience finally got the better of him and he realized that the best thing for his career was to get as far away as possible from Gonzales and the rest of the failed Bush Administration.

Sadly, the time has come for bulletproof school book bags

Remember the days when preparing for the new school year included new pens, notebooks, binders and shoes? Well, sadly the times they are a changin’.

Today, the hottest selling item for back to school necessities is a bulletproof backpack. Yes, you heard that right, a bulletproof backpack!

In light of the recent tragedies at Columbine and Virginia Tech, a company had developed a ballistic bookbag.

MJ Safety Solutions has developed, for the first time ever, a full size, lightweight ballistic protection back pack that is affordable and practical.

The adult-size bag comes in two styles and contains a 20 oz. ballistic panel similar to those worn by the police and military. It can be worn on the back for protection or held in front of the torso and head as a shield. (Due to a flood of requests, production of a smaller size pack suitable for elementary school children, is also being considered.)

This is a very sad indication of a current social problem regarding school shootings.
Here is the company”s “fine print” regarding the Ballistic Bag.

The ballistic panel has been tested by an independent laboratory to the NIJ Level II Protection standards. MJ Safety Solutions LLC can make no claims of or guarantee 100% protection or effectiveness. No product that we know of can offer 100% protection against all weapons in all conditions. Our goal is to provide a tool that will increase the user’s chances of survival in an incident involving firearms. The term “bulletproof” is used by 3rd parties as a descriptive term and is not a representation made by this company. The terms bulletproof backpack and bulletproof bookbag are not endorsed by this company. All other child safety and school safety measures and training should be observed and followed. These bags are also sized for use in public transportation and meet carry-on luggage size standards. Until there is an end to school violence we hope our product can help save lives. 8/21/2007

Bush threatens Iraqi Government will be replaced

President George W. Bush Tuesday acknowledged “a certain level of frustration with the leadership” in Iraq, and for at least the third time this summer declined to offer an endorsement of Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, the man he once called “the right guy for Iraq.”

“If the government doesn’t respond to the demands of the people,” he said, “they will replace the government.”

Excuse me?

Since when is Bush the authority of preaching a Democratic process?

Seeing as Bush wants to bring Democracy to Iraq, and obviously the Iraqi Government is having trouble grasping the whole process, maybe Bush should lead by example!
