Senate Conservatives knew about Craig’s “problem” prior to his arrest

Robert Novak during an interview on Bloomberg Television revealed that “sources in the Senate” told him fellow Republican Senators knew about Larry Craig’s “problem” but kept it quiet.

From the interview:

“I have talked to several of my sources in the Senate, and this came as a surprise to me. They knew about it. They knew that he had this problem, and it was in the closet. And it was not just a homosexual relationship. It was this weird conduct. They didn’t do anything about it.”

Novak added, “So Republicans, again, as in the case of Congressman Foley, their cover-up is coming back to haunt them.”

What was once in the closet, or in Craig’s case the toilet stall, is now out in full view.

If Novak’s claim is correct, then the Senate ethics committee investigation into Craig’s case should prove to be very entertaining, not only to learn how long Craig has been doing “weird” things, but also to find out who may be involved in the cover-up.

Luckily Craig is too stupid to resign his Senate seat in the face of these allegations, so we will be further entertained by this person’s hypocrisy during the ethics investigation.
