Bush: If We Hide it, It Will Go Away
The truth must be weighing heavy on the minds of “Loyal Bushies” in the White House. After 7 very long years of lies, lies, and more lies, it seems the truth cannot be hidden away anymore, much to the chagrin of Bush and company.
First it was the confession that Bush authorized the use of torture against terrorist suspects, something which he adamantly denied for a long time. Because of that, he will probably go down in history as “Bush the torturer.” But amid all the rhetoric about Iraq, WMD, claims of executive privilege, signing statements, and getting the “evil doers,” the country’s economy has slipped into the dumper.
You know it, I know it, the world knows it. The once mighty ‘green back’ has fallen from the world’s “currency of choice” status, and is having a hard time competing even with the Canadian dollar. What’s a President to do?
Well, what Bush did was try to convince the economy was “strong and vibrant”, even though it was showing real signs of being poor and stagnant. Then when that didn’t work, he realized in true “Bush logic form,” that what works for him would probably work for the rest of us when things start to get scary. Unfortunately, leaving all the lights on, and pulling the covers up over our heads only works for children trying to hide from the boogie man after a bad dream! This tactic may work in the Presidential bedroom, but it is quite useless in the real world.
So fearing that the truth about the economy may emerge and scare the living daylight out of us, President Bush has decided to shut down the Government’s Economic Indicators website, citing “budgetary constraints” as the reason.
This, I find is irony at it’s highest level!
