SMU Will Host George W. Bush Presidential Shack
Donald L. Evans, chairman of the George W. Bush Presidential Library Foundation, proudly boasts: “How fitting is it that this storied political life that began here in Texas will write its final chapters right here in the good old Lone Star State and right here at this campus?” He also goes on to say the center would “celebrate this great president, celebrate his accomplishments.”
He’s talking about the same George W. Bush that has been President of this country for the past 7 years, right? I thought so. So that being the case, then what exactly is the center going to “celebrate?” Which accomplishments does he think are worthy of being celebrated?
I fail to see how the least popular President in History would have done anything worthy to celebrate! His so-called storied political life began with an arrest and mugshot for a DUI and it hasn’t gotten any better from that point on. His policies while President have been based on lies and fear tactics to get his way.
Here’s some of his accomplishments:
He started a war based on lies.
He illegally authorized wiretapping of American Citizens.
He authorized the use of illegal torture techniques against terror suspects.
He and his Administration cronies have run rough shod over the Constitution.
Yup, these are a few of the accomplishments of Bush’s Presidency that are worth celebrating, just like you would if you were to pass a kidney stone.
No, a center worthy of celebrating Bush’s storied political life, and his accomplishments would fit in a building the size of an outhouse. And just like an outhouse, Bush’s Presidential library will be a place you don’t really want to go into, and you won’t be able to get out of fast enough!
