Craig Offers “Behind-the-Scenes Look” to Interns

Somehow the term “behind-the scenes look” and an offer to work for Senator Larry Craig is hilarious!

Seems Senator Craig is seeking applications for interns to work in his office for the summer term.

“Interns have the chance to be an essential part of a working congressional office,” said Craig. “They participate in the legislative process as well as ensure that constituent services run smoothly. For those interested in politics, it is an incredible opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes look at how our government functions while serving the people of Idaho.”

However, being an intern requires that less ‘glamorous’ duties be performed as well. These include answering phones, sorting mail, greeting constituents, and occasionally keeping watch outside any public washroom.

Bush: It’s Not a Recession, It’s More Like a Nap

President George Bush showing again that he is so totally out of touch with the times that he denied that the US economy was in recession or would go into one despite a spate of downcast reports and gloomy indicators.

“We’re not in a recession, I don’t think we will go in a recession. We’re in a slowdown, and there’s a difference,” Bush said in an interview with American Urban Radio Networks. “No question there is softening now.”

“I am confident in our economy,” he said. “Think about what we’ve been through since I’ve been president, recession, an attack, corporate scandals, major natural disasters, high oil prices, war and yet we had 52 months of uninterrupted growth and that speaks volumes about the American people and resilience,” he said.

So our economy is napping is what he wants us to believe!

His challenge of “Think about what we’ve been through since I’ve been president,” makes me queazy at the thought! He claims that we had almost 41/2 years of uninterupted growth, but his economy is obviously different from our economy. Yes, a few boatloads of greenbacks have left the treasury to buy services and materials, but unfortunately the money went to defense contractors who were embroiled in the profitable Iraq war.

The U.S. dollar is in the tank around the world, consumer confidence is in the tank at home, and bush blames the economy on the fact that “they’ve built too many houses.” Bush has to realize that while he was concentrating on beating the war drums abroad, the American economy was slipping into a coma, and needed to be fixed a few years ago, not 6 months from now!

Missing White House Emails Finally Explained

The reason for the missing White House Emails is either a simple case of stupidity/ignorance, or a meticulously thought out plan making it look like stupidity or ignorance!

A computer expert who worked at the White House provided the first inside look at its e-mail system Tuesday, calling it a “primitive” setup that created a “high” risk that data would be lost. How convenient!

You can’t tell me that in this day and age with so many computer literate ‘geeks’ on every street corner , or for that fact an 8 year old with rudimentary computing skills that the Bushies couldn’t find someone, or some company to properly manage their email system! No, this was a planned case of ‘ignorance’ on their part to conveniently lose incriminating correspondence.

And we all know that Bush couldn’t have been behind the plan, because I’m sure his computer looks an awful like an etch-a-sketch, and every week or so his IT guy has to come and re-boot (turn it upside down and shake it) it for him!

Gennifer “Media Whore” Flowers Trying to Sell Dirt on Clinton…Again.

I thought Gennifer Flowers’ 15 minutes of fame came and went in 1992, but just like a bad acid flashback she has returned thinking she is relevant! And what possible reasons could Gennifer want to crawl out from under the rock of obscurity for? The publicity over her alleged taped conversations with Bill Clinton during their 12-year affair. Yeesh, when will this woman give it up already?

Claiming her only reasons for putting the tapes on the auction block are for her future financial security, and not to hurt Hillary’s Democratic nomination campaign, “I don’t need to hurt Hillary. She is doing a fine job of that herself, along with her idiot husband. Karma is an interesting thing. If these two don’t get elected, and they are a team, it will be karma coming back to visit them. It’s about time.”

She claims to have received “renewed interest” in the tapes which made her decide to put them up for auction. She also claims to have been offered $5 million by a Japanese collector in the 1990’s. “I certainly would enjoy the money for my future security. I don’t have any guarantee what might be coming,” she said.

Damn, $5 million for recorded messages which some claim may have been doctored! I think Gennifer missed the boat by not selling to the Japanese collector! Somehow I don’t think the tapes are worth a plugged nickel to anybody anymore. Why pay for old news right?

Back under the rock Gennifer!

Bush, the Telco Lobbyist is Every Bit as Culpable For Lawsuits

President Bush, the new telecommunication’s Lobbyist is trying hard to stave off the inevitable landslide of lawsuits against those companies “believed to have assisted” his illegal wiretapping program.

Ever since the House Democrats called him on his fear tactics that the terrorists were going to get us after the Protect America Act expired, he has since changed his tune a little. He still talks about “America being not as safe,” but now his focus has changed to “protecting” the telecoms who aided him in his illegal wiretapping of American citizens.

“Our government told them that their participation was necessary, and it was and still is,” Bush said. “What we asked them to do was legal, and now they’re getting sued for billions of dollars.”

Firstly, what’s with the “our Government” told them to break the law? No, Bush is mistaken. “He told them to break the law, and the Telco’s were only to eager to comply. How much money did the Government pay the Telco’s to wiretap American citizens without a warrant? Surely, they must have known what they were being asked to do was illegal. Was there anything in writing, or was it all done by a phone call from the Oval Office?

I’m thinking it must be the latter, because George sure is spending more oxygen on explaining why the Telco’s need retroactive immunity for breaking the law, because without it the Telco’s could very well point their fingers at the White House and claim “He told me to do it!”

Either way, our privacy laws were violated and somebody will have to pay the price for their errors in judgement. If its “billions of dollars,” then so be it. If its billions of dollars AND the President being implicated as well, then even better!
