Songs to Torture By

Here is a list of the more popular songs, and I use the term very loosely with some of these on the list, that were leaked from interrogation logs, news reports, soldiers and detainees.

Some I’ve never heard of before, and there’s a few that would make me want to take my own life!

1. Fuck your God - Deicide
2. Die MF Die - Dope
3. Take Your Best Shot - Dope
4. White America - Eminem
5. Kim - Eminem
6. Barney Theme Song - Barney
7. Bodies - Drowning Pool
8. Enter Sandman - Metallica
9. Meow Mix TV Commercial
10. Sesame Street Theme
11. Babylon - David Gray
12.Born in the U.S.A. - Bruce Springsteen
13. Shoot to Thrill - AC/DC
14.Hells Bells - AC/DC
15.Stayin Alive - BeeGees
16.All Eyes on Me - Tupac
17. Dirrty - Christina Aguilara
18. America - Neil Diamond
19. Bulls on Parade - Rage Against the Machine
20. American Pie - Don McClean
21. Click Click Boom - Saliva
22. cold - matchbox 20
23. Swan Dive - Hed P.E.
24. Raspberry Beret - Prince

Having the theme from Barney blared non-stop in an attempt to deprive a detainee of sleep must be considered “cruel and inhumane” punishment! Personally, after a few minutes I’d be chewing through my arm to open up a vein.

Bush Still Peddling Fear After Spy Act Expiration

Bush is at it again. He seems to think that his old trick of spreading fear to get the public all worked up will help him get his way in getting a bill passed that would grant immunity to the telecommunications companies that illegally spied on us. Not so fast George!

Fear has been used in the past as a very good tool for him to get his way. Fear got us into Iraq, and fear destroyed the Constitution. Fear won’t work anymore, as we’re all sick and tired of the lies that have been told to perpetuate his fear. It just won’t work anymore George.

Less than one week after Congress stood up to Bush and finally said “NO” to his surveillance bill which included immunity for the telecoms, the Bush Administration is crying wolf already! “We have lost intelligence information this past week as a direct result of the uncertainty created by Congress’ failure to act,” the two officials told House of Representatives Intelligence Committee Chairman Silvestre Reyes in a letter.

Mukasey and McConnell gave no details of the missed intelligence. They told Reyes, however, that some communications firms have balked at cooperating out of uncertainty over their legal exposure.

So even though the Government’s intelligence gathering machine is still able to legally wiretap terrorism suspects, it’s not good enough because Bush didn’t get his way! It seems we might as well hunker down and get ready for more fear mongering from Bush for the next 332 days, because unless he gets his spy bill passed with immunities, its going to be a long summer listening to Bush telling us that the sky is falling!

Rove Explains Bush’s Use of Signing Statements

Karl Rove, speaking to students at the University of Pennsylvania last night explained Bush’s use of the famed ‘Signing Statements.’

One member of the audience alleged that Mr. Bush had simply used these statements as a measure to arbitrarily exercise power over intelligence and terrorism issues, particularly warrantless wiretapping. Mr. Rove noted that when the president issues a signing statement, he does so to express his view that a provision within a law violates the U.S. Constitution and that he is discarding that provision in accordance with his duty as commander in chief. Those who disagree with his doing so, meanwhile, can take on the White House in the courtroom if they feel strongly enough about it, he said.

Personally, the arrogance of the ‘turd blossom’ is infuriating. Especially when he mocks us by saying, “those who disagree with his doing so, meanwhile, can take on the White House in the courtroom if they feel strongly enough about it.” Yeah, right Karl, like we haven’t heard “Executive Privilege” from the Bush Administration enough already!

I also feel that Bush’s signing statements have also been used to violate the U.S. Constitution when his views differ from a law passed by the House and Senate. Warrantless wiretapping is a gross violation of the U.S. Constitution, but in Bush’s opinion he issues a signing statement and ‘presto’ it gives him authority over the Constitution! This is just plain wrong, and an abuse of power.

And on a final note from the world of Rove. He laid this little gem of wisdom on the students as well.
“History has a funny way of deciding things,” he said. “Sometimes history sends you things, and 9/11 came our way.”

And I’m sure history will decide Karl’s fate and the rest of the Bush Administration’s transgressions against the U.S Constitution in due time as well!

Secret Service Did Not Screen People at Obama Rally Because They “Seemed Friendly”

If anything would have smacked as a conspiracy in the Democratic Nomination race, it would have been if anything had happened to Barrack Obama during a rally at Dallas’ Reunion Arena.

In what is a mind boggling decision by the Secret Service to order security details at the rally to let people into the event without being checked or inspected, is just plain stupid!

The order to put down the metal detectors and stop checking purses and laptop bags came as a surprise to several Dallas police officers who said they believed it was a lapse in security. “Sure,” said Deputy Police Chief T.W. Lawrence, when asked if he was concerned by the great number of people who had gotten into the building without being checked. But, he added, the turnout of more than 17,000 people seemed to be a “friendly crowd.”

I just can’t believe that the person in charge of the Secret Service’s detail to protect Obama would give the order to not screen people at such a public event! Every person in this race, be it Clinton or McCain, or Huckabee, or Paul deserves to be protected by the Secret Service. Not only deserves it, but I’m sure they expect it as well.

The last thing this country needs is another John Hinckley trying to prove a point.
