North: It Wasn’t Terrorism, But Its Still Pelosi’s Fault
Doing the only thing he can do, which is spout his neo-conservative rhetoric on Fox News, Oliver North claims it was Nancy Pelosi who was ultimately responsible for the bombing incident in Times Square yesterday.
Not wanting to miss an opportunity to plug Bush’s Protect America Act, and the danger that was created when Congress refused to renew it, he stated that:
Last month, of course, the U.S. House of Representatives at the direction of Nancy Pelosi went on vacation rather than voting on the Protect America Act, which provided for wiretapping of terrorists making phone calls into and out of the United States to foreign places.
And I note that it would have been a lot easier, perhaps, to find out who did this, or even to know that they were planning it, had we been able to intercept those communications.
All that said, I think its important for all our viewers to understand this is very likely not terrorism, its more likely to be vandalism.
So in other words, Ollie is telling us that if the PAA had been renewed the way the Senate wanted it to, with immunity for the telecoms, they may have been able to find out who did this, or possibly know they were planning this act of vandalism!
So now its vandals they want to spy on! Give me a break Oliver! Using this event to politicize the need for telecom immunity is disgusting, and wrong. But look who its coming from and on what network, so I shouldn’t be too shocked!
