McCain ad: “I’m just like Churchill and Roosevelt”
Watching McCain’s new Presidential ad is like battling sea sickness, wave after wave of nausea.
Sound bites of speeches from Winston Churchill as he reassures his country that “he will never surrender” the country to Hitler’s Germany during WWII. And Theodore Roosevelt speaking of the US coming to England’s defense, “surely there never was a fight better worth making than the one in which we are in”, all transposed over powerful images of Churchill, Roosevelt, clouds, solar systems, and of course, John McCain himself.
As much as McCain tries, he would like us to believe that he is the modern day Churchill or Roosevelt, as he reiterates, “We are Americans, we’ll never surrender, they will.” Ummm, is he confused or does he believe that we are in WWII times, fighting to defeat an enemy that is invading our allies in Europe?
Last time I checked, the evil tyrannical Iraqi empire was not marching through Europe, raping, looting and pillaging everything in their way. Nor are any of our Allies being invaded, which would require our intervention. Mr. McCain is obviously confused, because history shows that Mr. Bush was the aggressor. Bush started the Iraq war. Bush invaded Iraq. Did somebody forget to tell this fact to John McCain before “He approved this message?”
It’s nauseating, and disgusting to think that McCain would compare himself with two WWII leaders, and use their words in an attempt to further his political aspirations, when in fact the speeches by Prime Minister Churchill and President Roosevelt have absolutely nothing to do with the 2008 Presidential Election!
What’s next McCain? Hidden video of your Democratic rivals juggling kittens?

Is it just me or does this film try and convey that it is America that’s being oppressed? You’d have to be completely mind-warped to be persuaded by this rubbish. There can be absolutely no comparisons made between defending against a Nazi invasion and the illegal war for oil that’s currently going on in Iraq!! Continuing with the war and occupation will only propagate more violence and create more extremists!! Americans must vote for change…. for the sake of all of us!!
Not surprising that McCain would compare himself to Churchill, because he’s spent his career comparing every tin-pot dictator who crosses the U.S. to Hitler. And his constant stand-in for Neville Chamberlain? A certain Bill Clinton. So much for Hillary’s commander-in-chief threshold — according to McCain, her husband never crossed it.
~You do know that Teddy was President some 40 years before WWII, right? In fact, his speech did not have to do with war at all. Rather, it had to do with the construction of the “Bull-Run” Party.
