Democrats Tend to Eat Their Own

With the Democratic nomination race still undecided as to who will lead the race for the White House, one thing remains abundantly clear; its not about party but rather its about the person.

Debate on anything is good, as long as its kept to the subject at hand. But rather than dealing with the issues, there are those in the Democratic party that want to bring it down to a lower level that has absolutely nothing to do with the issues. Enter Geraldine Ferraro.

She has come out and claimed that Barrack Obama would not be where he is in the race if he weren’t black. This coming from a woman who once vied for the VP position on the Mondale run. Some would say that she wouldn’t have been on the ticket were it not for her being a woman. But I guess in her eyes thats a different situation all together.

“If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept,.” Ferraro said in an interview last week with the Daily Breeze newspaper. Now she claims that her words “had been taken out of context!”

Oh do tell Geraldine, just how exactly can your words be taken out of context? They appear to be pretty black and white.

Who’s got more experience? Who’s going to answer the phone at 3 AM? All seem to be hot topics as the race gets closer to the wire. But these topics are not the issues that need to be addressed, and Ms. Ferraro’s foray into the mix with her stupid comments aren’t helping the cause.

In a time when this country is looking for leadership, someone to heal the wounds of the past seven years, the Democratic party is not answering that call with their sniping back and forth at each other. Geraldine would and the others that throw their two cents into the Candidates’ race would be well served to stay out of it, as their comments only serve to confuse the issues on the table, not to mention dumb it down to a level that is unnecessary.

The race should come down to the issues at hand. Whether Hillary is a woman, or Barrack an African American, is not an issue that needs to be discussed, because those issues have already been addressed. What hasn’t been addressed is who has the best plan and vision to lead the party into the general election.

Can we just stick to the issues please?
