Hillary Pushes Fear For Political Gain
How many times have we said, “There goes Bush again, using fear to get what he wants”? “Terror attack this, Osama that, and WMD’s are all out to get us,” are the usual benchmarks of the Bush Administration to use to further their political wants. Well, its not only Bush and the neocons that have a monopoly on using the tactics of fear. Enter Liberal candidate Hillary Clinton, as the newest member of the club.
In a final push to secure victory in the Pennsylvania primaries, Hillary aired an ad which looked like it came out of the Bush/McCain play book. Using fear as the backdrop to push her point of “you need to be ready for anything,” the ad shows a montage of events including Pearl Harbor and the fall of the Berlin Wall, interspersed with clips of Al-Qaeda mastermind bin Laden and Hurricane Katrina victims.
This ad shows us that Hillary is grasping at straws to win the nomination, because she has jumped on the ‘fear’ bandwagon to get votes. She has seen how effective the Bush campaigns of fear have been in the past, so she’s hoping it will do the same for Her campaign. We all thought McCain will be another 4 years of Bush policy, but with Clinton it looks like it will be another 4 years of Bush ‘fear’ tactics.
Obama’s response to the ad was one of level headed thinking.
“And who in times of challenge will unite us — not use fear and calculation to divide us?”
Hillary claims that, “if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen,” as her strong argument, but looking at this ad its obvious that something is burning in Hillary’s kitchen!

If only these fear tactics would start backfiring someday. I guess we need smart voters for that to happen. The only thing Hillary is accomplishing is showing us that she won’t be any different from Bush if she gets elected.
The only good news about her is that, according to the “experts,” she needs to win the PA primary by a wide margin in order to still be viable. Everyone expects her to win, but if the margin isn’t large enough she’s toast.
She knows fear has worked for Bush, so she figures that she can get away with it too. I agree that we the voters need to smarten up against these type of attacks on us.
If Hillary doesn’t win by double digits, she is done for. Big question is though, will she realize it and do what she needs to do for the good of the party, and the country? My guess is a big fat ‘no.’
