McCain Once Again Proves He’s Living In The Past
I thought Russia was a young, blossoming democracy thanks to Ronald Reagan who it is said had a major hand in turning the country around? And Russia is indeed an “industrialized nation, is it not? Well then what the hell is John McCain doing by threatening to kick Russia out of the G-8 group?
McCain wants to make a statement that his so-called “specialty” is foreign policy, but this statement just proves otherwise.
We should start by ensuring that the G-8, the group of eight highly industrialized states, becomes again a club of leading market democracies: it should include Brazil and India but exclude Russia. Rather than tolerate Russia’s nuclear blackmail or cyber attacks, Western nations should make clear that the solidarity of NATO, from the Baltic to the Black Sea, is indivisible and that the organization’s doors remain open to all democracies committed to the defense of freedom.
Luckily, the experts tell us that kicking Russia out of the G-8 would be an impossibility, seeing as Russia would have to approve of it’s own ouster, which of course would never happen.
Russia deserves to be included in the group because they are an up and coming democracy, and the world is definitely a safer place with them at least sitting at the same table we are, as opposed to another cold war standoff situation.
So its relatively easy to see that McCain is trying to emulate Bush’s arrogant swagger amongst the world’s leaders, as he tries to prove his “expertise” on all things foreign policy related! Maybe somebody should tell McCain that the cold war has ended and Russia is not the same communist machine it was 50 years ago!
Way to go McCain, you are not even the president yet, and already you are alienating our friends and foes alike!

Why would you exclude any country - unless there is some magic tot he number 8
It is true that there are always changes - up and down - no doubt about that
However Russia with its oil money and reserves is on the way up
Second there have always been attempts to reduce the role of Russia with dire results - look at the attempts after world war 1 with the Treaty of Versailles fiasco - look at its results - ww2 and now
Russia has a way of coming back
Why cause trouble yet again ?
McCain is absolutely right; we can’t trust those commies. But Germany is even worse. They have some charismatic rightwing demagogue who’s about to take over the country, Adolph something-or-other.
Same with Italy. They have some ruthless dictator who’s making the trains run on time. We need to kick all of those dangerous countries out of the League of Nations.
Don’t forget about those pesky Canadians! With their legalized pot smoking, and socialized healthcare, no telling when their citizens will rise up and cause trouble!
