Sen. Mikulski Snaps. Goes on Long Overdue Tirade

What can I say, other than Sen. Mikulski (D-MD) has finally done what no other Democrat has dared to do in the past. She stood, and stood up loudly to Bush’s $108 billion emergency spending bill for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Sen. Mikulski absolutely rips into White House budget director Jim Nussle over his responses to the Senators, and Bush’s lack of funding for this nation’s law enforcement officers. Bush has requested $603 billion to train Iraqi police, but has also cut state and local law enforcement programs at the Justice Department by 61%.

Shit, by him pouring this amount of money into Iraqi police programs, you would think that he lived there or something?

Either way, after Mikulki’s reaming of Nussle’s backside, it only leaves one question left to ask. Why in the hell hasn’t this kind of questioning taken place in the Senate and House about the Bush Administration’s war funding in the past? Every elected Representative and Senator should be taking this kind of attitude towards Bush’s war funding requests.

A big thank you to Senator Mikulski for taking a stand!

Condi Must Go, Along With the Rest!

Sign the petition here, to demand the presidential candidates demand Secretary of State Rice resign her position because she not only lied to Congress about the government’s involvement in torturing detainees, but also chaired secret White House meetings to approve torture techniques.

It still is amazing to me that the Bush administration is allowed to continue it’s assault on the Constitution of this country. These people must be held accountable for their illegal actions! Sign the petition here to make a stand, and to do something!

My Fingerprints, are My Identity, Regardless of What Bush Thinks!

Michael Chertoff claimed to the Canadian press recently that fingerprints are “not particularly private.” Chertoff was recently in Canada discussing ways to create stricter identity systems when he dropped this little of information to the Canadian Press.

QUESTION: Some are raising that the privacy aspects of this thing, you know, sharing of that kind of data, very personal data, among four countries is quite a scary thing.

SECRETARY CHERTOFF: Well, first of all, a fingerprint is hardly personal data because you leave it on glasses and silverware and articles all over the world, they’re like footprints. They’re not particularly private.

I have a few issues with Mr .Chertoff’s claim. Firstly, fingerprints are personal data, regardless of where we inadvertently leave them. just because we leave them in door knobs, drinking glasses, and other items we come into contact with, does not mean they can be harvested by the government spies to put in a database somewhere and keep track of us.

If this is what the Department of Homeland Security plans to do, then they are no more above the common “dumpster diver” going through our garbage to find credit card and bank statements to use to steal our identities. Only real difference in this scenario is the DHS thinks what they are doing is legal, which of course we all know is not.

If this keep up, pretty soon the entire country will be wearing dark sunglasses and wearing gloves whenever out in public in an attempt to keep their lives private from the prying eyes of the government.

Bush and McCain, The Fundamentals Are the Same

In Progressive Media U.S.A.’s first ad against John McCain, it reminds us of the obvious, that Bush and McCain are one of the same. When McCain kissed the ring of the GOP leaders, it sealed his fate as the chosen one to carry on Bush’s policies.
Can you see the similarities in this ad? Who’s really“out of touch?”

Bitter Yet? We Should Be!

Four days of none stop talk about who’s bitter, divisive, and above all else elitist. Had enough of this story that is being crammed into our ears by the media yet? Lets talk about who should have every right to be bitter. Us, we all should be bitter at the media who have for some reason jumped all over the “bittergate” story and is reporting it like it’s the most important news item of our time, when in fact it really isn’t.

I’ve been waiting all weekend for the media to address the real story that is far more important than the “he said, she said” B.S. we are getting, but so far I’m still waiting. The news I’m referring to is of course Bush’s acknowledgment that he “knew of and approved” the discussions of his top advisers discussing what types of torture the CIA could use on terror suspects.

I guess having a President that approved the discussions of and implementing of torture tactics is far less media worthy than a President who lied about getting a blow job in the White House. It’s truly sad when the free press of this country deems a political campaign ‘tif’ more news worthy than a President who has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, not to mention crimes against our Constitution!
