Stay tuned for the Lavatory Larry show

I’ve had a change of heart. For months now I’ve been calling out Senator Larry Craig to follow up on his promise to resign from the Senate after being busted in the now famous Minneapolis airport bathroom sting. He said he would resign, but has since changed his mind. Good!

Upon further thought about it, I want him to stay in the Senate for one reason only. That’s because of the Senate ethics panel investigation into Craig’s case, which will undoubtedly be televised.

Rumor has it that if the Republicans can’t get him to follow up on his promise to resign; they have asked the Senate ethics committee to go after him. Let the fun begin!

Finally something good on TV to watch. I want to see Larry demonstrate his “wide stance”, and hear about the piece of paper he supposedly picked up off the men’s room floor. Yes, good times indeed.

If he wasn’t embarrassed enough after his guilty plea came out (no pun intended!), the televised spectacle of his actions surrounding the case should make the all time funniest highlight reels of late night television! Bring it on Larry!

Get the popcorn, wake the neighbors and give the dog a beer, it’s the Latrine Queen Ethics hearing show!

Senator Craig; “I will resign”..Psych!

Idaho Sen. Larry Craig defiantly vowed to serve out his term in office on Thursday despite losing a court attempt to rescind his guilty plea in a men’s room sex sting.

“I have seen that it is possible for me to work here effectively,” Craig said in a written statement certain to disappoint fellow Republicans who have long urged him to step down.

When the charges first surfaced, Craig said he would resign by Sept. 30. But then he decided to attempt withdrawing a written guilty plea in August to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He said he would stay in office at least until a judge ruled on that bid.

“Because the defendant’s plea was accurate, voluntary and intelligent, and because the conviction is supported by the evidence … the defendant’s motion to withdraw his guilty plea is denied,” Hennepin County Judge Charles Porter wrote.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody that Craig is now waffling on his promise to resign from the Senate. After almost 8 years of a corrupt Bush Presidency, we’ve become hardened to listening to the politicians say one thing, and end up watching them do another. Typical.

Another Republican Politician who’s time has come to go away

Larry Craig claimed he was “deeply panicked” after being arrested on suspicion of soliciting a plain clothes police officer in Minneapolis Airport men’s room, so he signed a guilty plea to try and keep the arrest quiet.

In court papers filed yesterday, he is asking the court to be allowed to withdraw his guilty plea. In other words become “un-guilty” after admitting guilt!

If he was innocent in the first place, why would he feel “deeply panicked” after his arrest, then sign a statement to the fact that he was guilty?

Sounds like more back pedaling from another politician trying to keep his phony-baloney job!

Yes, Larry Craig should resign immediately. It’s time for him to go away and crawl under the rock of obscurity like so many other disgraced politicians before him. Maybe Gonzo will share his ice cream!

On a more pathetic note Senator Craig, like Karl Rove thinks he is an entertainer and has regaled his audience with his voice. On November 4, 2005 Senator Craig got together with Paul Shaffer, from David Letterman fame and performed at a fundraiser for the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.

Paul and Larry sang a parody of “Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better.” Below is an excerpt of the recording. Yes, you heard that right:
Craig: I can dodge the press!

Shaffer: Without being caught?

Craig: Yes!

Shaffer: That’s what I thought.

If you’ve got the stomach for it, you can listen to the complete recording Here

Audio of Larry Craig’s arrest. He’s not gay, but he sure is a neat freak

Poor Larry. He’s not sure what hand his wedding ring is on, but when he uses a public washroom he sure like to tidy up while doing his business!

Some interesting tidbits from the transcript of the interview between the arresting officer and Larry Craig.

Officer: Okay
Craig: I sit down, um, to go to the bathroom and ah, you said our feet bumped. I believe they did, ah, because I reached down and scooted over and um, the next thing I knew, under the bathroom divider comes a card that says Police. Now, um, (sigh) that’s about as far as I can take it. I don’t know of anything else. Ah, your foot came toward mine, mine came towards yours, was that natural? I don’t know. Did we bump? Yes, I think we did. You said so. I don’t disagree with that.

Officer: Um, you you’re skipping some parts here, but what what about your hand?
Craig: What about it? I reached down, my foot like this. There was a piece of paper on the floor, I picked it up.

First of all, who the hell has to “scoot” to sit on the toilet? I thought it was an aiming thing when one sits down on the toilet!
Secondly, who the hell picks ANYTHING up off the floor of a public bathroom, let alone a piece of paper?

Larry should have realized that he was digging himself a deeper hole and gave up.

Larry Craig, like Paul Wolfowitz is another politician who believes he has done nothing wrong and will attempt to keep his job by any means possible. One other thing; read the transcript and take note of how many times Craig says “I don’t recall.” Seem familiar?
It must be rule number one in the Loyal Bushie scandal handbook of always replying to a question with “I don’t recall!”

Good luck to you Larry when the next election roles around!

Senator Craig states “I’m not Gay.” Then why the guilty plea?

Idaho Senator Larry Craig is trying to cram himself back in the closet, but he is finding out that once the cat is out of the bag, it’s pretty hard to get it back in.

Craig was arrested by an undercover officer in a Minneapolis airport washroom on June 11. The arresting officer claimed Craig had engaged in actions “often used by persons communicating a desire to engage in sexual conduct.” Craig then signed his plea of guilty papers on Aug. 1.

Now with his political career on the line he is claiming he is not gay. He declared, “I am not gay. I never have been gay.” “I did nothing wrong at the Minneapolis airport,” he said at a news conference with his wife, Suzanne, at his side.

Yeah right Larry, sure you are not gay, whatever you say! If he’s not gay, then why did he plead guilty to lewd conduct in a men’s room?

If one is not guilty of what he is accused of, then you would expect him to deny the charges, not admit to them. Even Michael Vick figured that out, eventually!
