Million Blog List

Surfing around this morning, checking my regular blogs that I frequent, I came across a post over at Rotus‘ place that I found intriguing.
Its called the “Million Blog List,” and it is an attempt to get 1 million bloggers to list their blogs on the wikipage.
“Sure, why not” I thought to myself. When was the last time I was a part of something so big?

If you are interested in joining the list, click here and add your blog. You never know how big this could get!

Sometimes, Just Sometimes Being in Jail Can Be Healthy

Having worked in law enforcement for a number of years, my views are pretty biased and slanted when it comes to those who break the law. I have very little to no pity for those who commit such heinous crimes as murder, rape, and pedophilia. Those are the crimes, that in my mind need to be dealt with harshly.

Imagine my surprise when I read that an inmate in the Benton County jail in Arkansas has filed a federal lawsuit complaining the jail doesn’t supply him with enough food! Broderick Lloyd Laswell has lost some weight since he entered the jail in September. In eight months he claims he has lost over 100 pounds to a present day weight of 308 pounds, down from 413!

Laswell, who along with a co-defendant fatally beat and stabbed a man, then set his home on fire, had this to say about his new dietary regimen:

“On several occasions I have started to do some exercising and my vision went blurry and I felt like I was going to pass out,” Laswell wrote in his complaint. “About an hour after each meal my stomach starts to hurt and growl. I feel hungry again.”

He also goes on to say that he undertakes little vigorous activity while in jail, and in his suit is asking that the county be ordered to serve hot meals! The meals, provided through Aramark Correctional Institution Services, average 3,000 calories a day.

Poor bastard, having to suffer on a mere 3,000 calories a day to survive! Granted, jail food is not known as a substitute for haute cuisine, but 2,000 to 3,000 calories a day is considered a typical, healthy diet in this part of the world.

Rather than go into the “hindsight being 20/20″ lecture of “maybe if he didn’t kill a man, he wouldn’t be in the predicament he is in,” he should look at it as a healthy step towards him living longer to better serve his time to pay back his debt to society.

Vote Incorrectly and Lose Your Baby

Military officers supporting Zimbabwe Dictator/President Robert Mugabe have enacted operation “Where Did You Put Your Cross?” in an attempt to put his opposition into exile before a run-off presidential election.

So far, 250 people have been rounded up and put into jail under the operation. Amongst the “detainees” were 24 babies and 40 children under the age of 6 locked up in filthy prison cells! According to the timesonline, thousands of people are trying to flee the violence of the so-called war veterans, who are attacking people and burning down hundreds of houses for voting “incorrectly” in last month’s elections.

Just another example of in some countries the people are given the right to vote in a “democratic” process, as long as you cast your vote for whoever they tell you to. How else do vermin like Mugabe keep control of power? Locking up babies and children to keep control of a country is just plain f**cked up, f**ked up on so many levels!

Does anybody have a bullet?

Security So Good, You Can Drive Through It

With airport security supposedly being a top priority at the nation’s airports, we have become accustomed to the delays associated with going through security because it is “keeping us safe.” We endure long lines, having our carry on bags rifled through, asked to make phone calls or turn on laptops to prove they are functioning electronic devices. Then there is the perfunctory security pat down, sans shoes of course, and the occasional “do you have any tender spots on your body,” question that is asked by the crack security screener before he gives you a physical pat down. It’s a pain in the ass, and sometimes embarrassing but we endure it because we want to be safe, right?

Well, if your tired of waiting in line to take off your shoes, apparently the fasted way to the plane is just to drive to it. Crack security on the inside of the airport, but drive through service on the outside!

An elderly man got disoriented around the Miami International Airport, and ended up driving through a security gate and found himself on one of the main runways!

Sometimes I wonder if all the security rituals they make you go through to get on a plane is all just for show, because if its easier to get on a runway from outside the airport, then something is seriously wrong with the nation’s airport security protocols.
