If Hollywood ’stars’ are threatening to leave the country, you know its election time again. How many times have we heard in the past that if “politician so-and-so wins (or loses), I’m leaving the country,” as if their threats are intended to make us lose sleep at nights?

Well, its that time of year again when the so called Hollywood ’stars’ come out of the woodwork and try to make us believe that politics is their sole reason for being in the United States in the first place, and fame, fortune and the tons of money they make by playing dress-up is secondary. Enter stage left, Susan Sarandon who vows to leave the country if McCain wins by stating, “If McCain gets in, it’s going to be very, very dangerous.”

Give me a break! The past eight years of George W. Bush in the White House hasn’t made her leave yet, so why would another four years of his policies under McCain make any difference?

Are these ’stars’ who make these threats every four years so in need of attention, that the only way they feel they can get it is by putting themselves upon a pedestal and threatening to leave this country if they don’t get their way? Somebody should tell Ms. Sarandon that her threat has been tried many times before, and it doesn’t work!

How many ’stars’ threatened to leave the country if GW was re-elected in 2004, and how many actually made good on their threat promise? None. Zippo. Nada. They are all still here. Besides, if those that actually did leave, how many do you think would surrender their American passports, and renounce their citizenship? None. Zippo. Nada.

I wonder how many ‘fans’ of these ’stars’ actually consider these threats when making their decision in the polling booth? I’m willing to bet the number is extremely low. And for those that actually do change their votes because of these threats, well then its time to get out of your parents’ basement and realize that the country you live in is real, not a scripted movie.

And if Ms. Sarandon does move to Italy or Canada if McCain ends up winning the election, all I can say is goodbye and good luck. Don’t forget to leave your passport on the way out.

The day has come for Rove to make good on his threat to testify about what he knows about the Don Siegelman case, as well as his roll in the firing of U.S. attorneys last year.

We’ve all had a turn at watching the turd-blossom do his dancing about the subject. First he will, then he won’t, then he will, but only in writing, not to mention listening to him on cable news shows claim he would be willing to tell what he knows about the case if only he were asked. Well, the time has come for him to step up to the plate, and face the pitcher.

So the wheels of justice have been put in motion, but will the AG step on the gas pedal and stand by the subpoena, or let Rove snub his nose at the House Judiciary Committee? We have heard the routine all too often coming from Bush’s cronies about testifying under oath, so why should this instance be any different?

Rove will either claim ‘executive privilege‘ and refuse to speak, or he will likely not even bother to show up for the hearing. One or the other can surely be expected from the Rove camp. What would be a total shocker, would be if he did indeed show up, and co-operated with the committee. But that would be a stretch.

We will only have to wait and see what happens next. Will the subpoena be vigorously enforced, or will it just end up being another political posturing that will go nowhere?

It was heard through the grapevine today, that House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers was overheard saying, “We’re closing in on Rove. Someone’s got to kick his ass.”

When asked for a more official explanation, Conyers replied, “Rove has a week to appear before his committee. If he doesn’t we’ll do what any self-respecting committee would do. We’d hold him in contempt. Either that or go and have him arrested.”

Bring it baby! Rove has been walking around like his shit doesn’t stink for the past 8 years, and its about time someone got out the room freshener! It has come time for Rove to put his money where his mouth is, and fess up about what he knows about, among other things the Siegelman case, and the Attorney firings. He has been telling everybody that will listen to him that he has nothing to hide, and would be more than happy to testify. But when push came to shove about formerly testifying, he started to waffle.

Its time for that lying sack of turd blossom fertilizer to put his hand on the Bible and swear to tell the truth, and start talking. Someone just better make sure there is a fire extinguisher close by, because I’ll bet that Bible will start to smoke as soon as Rove gets near it.

Joe Lieberman and John McCain are almost cut from the same cloth, except Joe knows more about Sunni’s and Shia, etc. etc. What they do have in common however is an appetite to bomb Iran. John sings about it, and Joe claims it “appeals ” to him.

During Bill Bennett’s radio show today, Bill and Joe were fantasizing about their pearl wearing heroine, Hillary “obliterate them all” Clinton when Bennett lets the cat out of the bag about his admiration for Hillary.

And Joe, you know, this is my style. This is a girl who puts on her pearls, goes down, throws down a shot of liquor and bombs Iran, you know. This is…lookout Mrs. Bennett, this is my kind of girl.

Lieberman then says, “it does have an appeal to it.”

Yup, just some good ol Neocon buddies, kickin’ back havin’ some shots, talkin’ bout the ladies and bombing Iran. I wonder if these two have BFF tatoos? “Peace is for pussies” must be tattooed on their ass cheeks!

The House Judiciary Committee called Karl Rove’s bluff about testifying about what he knows about the prosecution of Don Siegelman, but now Rove doesn’t want to play anymore.

Rove’s offer to testify before the House Judiciary Committee is like watching a used car salesman wiggle his way out of the “do I have a deal for you” scenario. Rove’s latest deal offering goes from his preliminary offer of a private interview with no transcript or oath, to his new offer that he will testify in writing.

So the Turd cannot summon enough balls to testify in person before the House Judiciary Committee, so now he wants to “mail in” his testimony? What a crock!

Does anybody have any idea how long it takes a letter to get from, oh lets say Paraguay to Washington, D.C.? Because I’m willing to bet that’s where Rove will be writing his testimony from! I can see this guy getting out of the kitchen before it gets too hot for his liking.
