Karl Rove Still Able To Yank Our Chains

What is it about Karl Rove that lets him still get the better of us even though he is no longer pulling strings for the Bush Administration? Or maybe he still is calling the shots, and we don’t realize it yet. Who knows, either way this man still has the ability to get under our skin and leave a bad rash!

Rove the turd blossom is still able to set us up, and let us hang for a while before he knocks us down again, which I’m sure gives him all kinds of pleasure on so many different levels. He is very reminiscent of the gopher from the movie Caddy Shack. As hard as Bill Murray’s character tried to eradicate the gopher, he just couldn’t kill it. The gopher just kept coming back to drive Murray nuts. This is Karl Rove!

I knew it sounded too good to be true when Rove stated that he would testify in the Don Siegelman corruption case. Yeah right, Karl Rove willingly offer to tell the truth about his involvement? Highly unlikely. But in what appeared to be a fishing tournament, the House Judiciary Committee took the bait, hook line and sinker, and asked Rove to appear under oath.

Not even a day after the House Judiciary Committee made the request, Rove’s lawyers quickly answered back with a “yeah, I don’t think so.” Lawyers claim that MSNBC took Rove’s comments out of context, and besides that, Rove wouldn’t be allowed to testify without the White House’s blessing. In other words, Rove will use the now famous “executive privilege” shield to get out of testifying.

I’m sure Rove is still chuckling over sucking in the Judiciary Committee to make them think he would testify. Rove, like Caddy Shack’s gopher is getting the last laugh again.

Bitter Yet? We Should Be!

Four days of none stop talk about who’s bitter, divisive, and above all else elitist. Had enough of this story that is being crammed into our ears by the media yet? Lets talk about who should have every right to be bitter. Us, we all should be bitter at the media who have for some reason jumped all over the “bittergate” story and is reporting it like it’s the most important news item of our time, when in fact it really isn’t.

I’ve been waiting all weekend for the media to address the real story that is far more important than the “he said, she said” B.S. we are getting, but so far I’m still waiting. The news I’m referring to is of course Bush’s acknowledgment that he “knew of and approved” the discussions of his top advisers discussing what types of torture the CIA could use on terror suspects.

I guess having a President that approved the discussions of and implementing of torture tactics is far less media worthy than a President who lied about getting a blow job in the White House. It’s truly sad when the free press of this country deems a political campaign ‘tif’ more news worthy than a President who has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, not to mention crimes against our Constitution!

$17.2 billion Proves Congress Loves the Pork

So much for the promise of slashing “pork” spending by Congress. Mind you, does that surprise anyone? Rather than doing what they promised, and that was reducing the spending on pork projects, they actually increased 30% from fiscal year 2007!

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW), yesterday released its annual “Pig Book” tally of pork spending, which lists every earmark project funded by our tax dollars. Republican Congressmen took top honors for being at the top of the list in terms of spending for their State’s pet projects. In a nutshell, here’s a list of the top five “porkers”:
1. Sen. Thad Cochran, Mississippi Republican, $892.2 million

2. Sen. Ted Stevens, Alaska Republican, $469.4 million

3. Sen. Richard C. Shelby, Alabama Republican, $464.5 million

4. Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, Louisiana Democrat, $458.5 million

5. Sen. Robert C. Byrd, West Virginia Democrat, $386 million

Hillary Clinton came in 13th, by spending $296 million, and Barrack Obama 28th, for spending $97 million. As usual, John McCain was dead last for spending $0. Even though John McCain has done some serious flip flopping on political issues, he must be given credit for speaking out against earmark spending, and then following up on his word.

Grab your copy of this year’s “Pig Book” and be sure to leave it in your bathroom. It makes excellent reading material when one is sitting around waiting for things to happen.

At Last, Rove Admits he Has Horns and a Tail

During a question and answer period after his speech at George Washington University last night, Karl was asked by a student why he is perceived as a “fundamentally bad human being.” Rove’s reply:

“First of all, the tail and the horns are retractable.”

He also claimed he was a ‘myth’, that he’s not often seen but people talk about him.

$300 Million Contract to Who, For What? Who’s In Charge at The Pentagon?

A $300 million Pentagon contract was given to an unexperienced 22 year old to supply of all things munitions to U.S. troops in Afghanistan?!?

Just when we thought that the stupidness of the Bush Administration’s hiring practices had reached its peak when it was revealed that ‘heck of a job’ Brownie was hired as head of FEMA on the credentials he had as Commissioner of Judges at the International Arabian Horse Association! Guess not.

Doesn’t anybody in Government check resumes anymore, let alone follow up on their contents? Come on, giving a 22 year old a $300 million Government contract to supply munitions to the U.S. Military is to put it bluntly, stupid! How stupid you may ask? How much experience exactly, did the Pentagon think a company, AEY Inc., run by a 22 and 25 year old, have in the international business world, let alone the business of arms trading? There is only one word that describes the people at the Pentagon responsible for doling out fat juicy military contracts, IDIOTS!

The kid probably doesn’t even own a suit for christ’s sake!

Unfortunately it took officials if Afghanistan to raise the red flag that they were being shipped 40 year old ammunition, much of it from aging stockpiles of the old Communist bloc! Idiots!

Just one look at his MySpace Page tells you that this kid is definitely not “International Arms Trader” material!

“I finally got a decent apartment and im (sic) content for the moment,” he writes on the page, “however i (sic) definately (sic) have the desire to be very successful in my business and this does take up alot (sic) of my time.

This is the person that our Government felt was the most qualified, and competitive to supply our military, and our allies ammunition on the field of battle! $300 million Government Contract to somebody that is just barely able to buy a drink, and they expect him to procure ammunition for our military! Idiots! $300 million buys a lot of guns that say ‘pop’ when the trigger is pulled too! Idiots!

So to all of you out there that are working two jobs just to buy a tank of gas so you can take your family to the movies this weekend, be rest assured that your trusty Government is keeping a safe watch on the country’s wallet, and spending what’s left in the treasury very wisely!
