Perino Continues To Spew False Statements About Torture

I swear one of these days Hearst News Columnist Helen Thomas is going to get up and smack White House spokesman Dana Perino upside the head because of her Bush cheerleading shenanigans! Perino would have it coming too, especially from Thomas.

During today’s White House briefing, Thomas questioned how the White House was going to reconcile the credibility gap created when Bush finally admitted that he approved the use of torture, after vehemently denying it for so long. Perino’s response was the typical “pussy foot approach,” which only frustrated Thomas even more.

How Perino can continue to spew the lies for her Boss is incomprehensible, but she does it. She’s such a good loyal Bushie! The “torture” cat is out of the bag, and everybody admits it except for maybe a handful of loyal Bushie’s and of course Perino herself. The big question though, is where is the uproar over this Administration’s transgressions? The media certainly has been very quiet about the illegal acts by the Bush Administration when it approved the use of torture.

Has it gotten so bad that after all the illegal B.S. the Bush Administration has put this country through that we have become desensitized to any further wrong doings? He’s worn us out? We just don’t give a shit anymore? Are we only able to stand idly by and let this Administration continue its assault on us, and the Constitution because we have given up the fight against what’s right and wrong? Somehow Bush and his cronies have taken away our will to defend our rights, and now in the final months of his presidency we seem to be only too happy to bide our time and wait for him to exit gracefully.

Bill Clinton got impeached for lying about a blow job, but Bush can get away with state sponsored torture without so much as anybody in Washington missing a breath! Such a sad state of affairs this has become, truly sad.

Condi Must Go, Along With the Rest!

Sign the petition here, to demand the presidential candidates demand Secretary of State Rice resign her position because she not only lied to Congress about the government’s involvement in torturing detainees, but also chaired secret White House meetings to approve torture techniques.

It still is amazing to me that the Bush administration is allowed to continue it’s assault on the Constitution of this country. These people must be held accountable for their illegal actions! Sign the petition here to make a stand, and to do something!

John McCain is One Gaffe Away From…

Add your own ending to the title above!

During a question and answer session today, John McCain again got confused during his answer. The question asked of him from a journalist was about torturing detainees, asking “don’t we stand for something better?” McCain’s answer:

I’ve made it very clear, I’ve made it very clear in my statements and in my support of the Detainee Treatment Act, the Geneva Conventions, etc., that there may be some additional techniques to be used, but none of those would violate the Geneva Conventions, the Detainee Treatment Act…And we cannot ever, in my view, torture any American, that includes waterboarding.

(Please open the article to see the flash file or player.)

I’m very happy to announce that for once in this country’s history, EVERYBODY agrees with this statement!

McCain makes the claim that he has made it very clear that he against torture, and violating the Geneva Conventions, but yet he voted against a bill banning the CIA from using waterboarding. So McCain is standing by the old agage of “do as I say, not as I do,” because in one breath he opposes the use of torture, but secretly endorses it. Way to make a stand John!

So how many ‘gaffes’ has McCain made so far in his campaign? Are people willing to take the chance to see how many he makes if he were President? Making a mistake is one thing, but blaming that mistake on “being confused” is totally another.

Bitter Yet? We Should Be!

Four days of none stop talk about who’s bitter, divisive, and above all else elitist. Had enough of this story that is being crammed into our ears by the media yet? Lets talk about who should have every right to be bitter. Us, we all should be bitter at the media who have for some reason jumped all over the “bittergate” story and is reporting it like it’s the most important news item of our time, when in fact it really isn’t.

I’ve been waiting all weekend for the media to address the real story that is far more important than the “he said, she said” B.S. we are getting, but so far I’m still waiting. The news I’m referring to is of course Bush’s acknowledgment that he “knew of and approved” the discussions of his top advisers discussing what types of torture the CIA could use on terror suspects.

I guess having a President that approved the discussions of and implementing of torture tactics is far less media worthy than a President who lied about getting a blow job in the White House. It’s truly sad when the free press of this country deems a political campaign ‘tif’ more news worthy than a President who has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity, not to mention crimes against our Constitution!

McCain is a True Conservative, Just Like Bush!

“Torture’s Terrible Toll; Abusive interrogation tactics produce bad intel, and undermine the values we hold dear. Why we must, as a nation, do better. We should not torture or treat inhumanely terrorists we have captured. The abuse of prisoners harms, not helps, our war effort. ”

These were John McCain’s words, written by him on November 21, 2005. He also went on to address the subject of waterboarding. He called it “very exquisite torture.”

McCain, being a former prisoner of war, and claims to have been tortured, speaks from experience. I would consider him an “expert” on the subject. So one would think that he would be against the U.S. using torture on any level to coerce information from detainees of suspected terrorist suspects. In fact he’s been a very outspoken advocate against waterboarding. Until now that is!

In true ‘Loyal Bushie’ fashion, McCain has shown his true Conservative colors and voted against banning waterboarding and other harsh interrogation methods used by the CIA.

By going ‘on the record’ and voting against the torture ban, McCain has proven that Conservative political talk is cheap.

My question to the Conservative party is, “is this the best that you could do for a candidate to be a contender for the White House? The people of this country will not stand for another term of Bush politics.
