Blackwater, to Fight Drugs in America

Blackwater, the disgraced private security contractor gets tossed out of Iraq for illegal, excessive use of force and finds a new job fighting a different kind of war, drugs in America. Yup, the Pentagon is considering giving Blackwater Worldwide Security a $15 billion contract to provide “antidrug training missions” over five years to fight a narcotics trade that the government says finances terrorist groups.

How does this piece of information wind your watch? The war on terror comes to America in the form of a security contractor booted out of a country because of gross negligence, and instead of being disciplined, they up being rewarded with consideration for a fat government contract!

Same old tired song and dance coming from the Bushies. Nobody ever gets fired for doing an exceptionally shitty job, only promoted! So in other words a once petty possession misdemeanor could now get you killed in this country!

Goodbye freedom, hello Blackwater.

$190 billion more needed for wars! WTF?

This is getting ludicrous!

What happened to “The Iraq oil supply will pay for the war and Iraq’s reconstruction?

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has come to Congress to do Bush’s dirty work by asking for another handout, and not a paltry one either! $190 billion is what it’s going to take to keep the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan funded. $190 billion of OUR money!

It was only seven months ago that Bush petitioned Congress for $142 billion for the SAME wars! Now it has ballooned to $190 billion! WTF? Where is this money going?

Here’s what Gates claims the extra money is needed for:

- $11 billion to field another 7,000 MRAP vehicles in addition to the 8,000 already planned;
- $9 billion to reconstitute equipment and technology;
- $6 billion for training and equipment of troops;
- $1 billion to improve U.S. facilities in the region and consolidate bases in Iraq; and
- $1 billion to train and equip Iraqi security forces.

And of course, as with all requests of this nature, Gates relied on the tried and true “9/11″ speech; “Considering this, I would like to close with a word about something I know we can all agree on - the honor, courage and great sense of duty we have witnessed in our troops since Sept. 11th,” his testimony said

Bush and his band of thieves keep knocking on the door asking for handouts to keep their illegal war machine rolling. One can only wonder how much of this money is finding its way back into Cheney’s office safe.

Congress needs to treat Bush like the spoiled, unruly child he is. No more allowance until he cleans up his mess, regardless of how many temper tantrums he throws!

Iran dissidents: British capture ordered

LONDON (Associated Press) - An Iranian opposition group claimed Saturday that Iran’s capture of 15 British sailors and marines was planned in advance and carried out in retaliation for the U.N. sanctions imposed against the country, as an Iranian diplomat said the case had entered a legal phase.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran” the political wing of the Iranian MEK opposition group which is listed as a terrorist group by Britain, the U.S. and the European Union” said the British crew’s capture was planned in advance, but offered no evidence to support the claims.

Former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami told reporters on Saturday that he hopes the current standoff will be resolved peacefully “instead of facing a new disaster not only for Iranian-British relations, but for Iran internationally.”

As the reasons for the war on terror are becoming unraveled at an alarming pace, the political finger pointing and rhetoric are reaching “Pinocchio” proportions. Seemingly one lie that started this whole war/occupation nonsense in the first place, has evolved into a multi-country game of chicken. Who’s telling the truth? Who knows at this stage. But it looks as though things are going to get worse before they get better.

Bush now grasping at straws by trying to distort Al-Qaeda links

President Bush, perhaps because the writing on the wall is getting bigger, or maybe because panic and desperation is starting to get the better of him, but it seems as though he’s grasping at straws in an attempt to keep his war in Iraq from biting him in the ass.

Once again, relying on fear to gain popularity for his war he proclaimed; “The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq,” he said, “were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th, and that’s why what happens in Iraq matters to the security here at home.”

This tactic may have worked when he was drumming up public support for the war in the first place, but at this stage of the game his credibility is shot. Too bad he still doesn’t realize this cold hard fact.

Al-Qaida is just as strong now as it was before the September 11 terror attacks

In another kick to the crotch of Bush’s war on terror U.S. intelligence analysts have concluded al-Qaida has rebuilt its operating capability to a level not seen since just before the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, The Associated Press has learned.

WTF? What exactly has been accomplished in the past six years, besides lies, an illegal invasion of another country, and 1000’s of lives lost? What has been achieved?

Bush set out on a head hunt to seek out the “evildoers”, promising to bring those responsible for the 9/11 attacks to justice. But what happened instead was the fabricated story of weapons of mass destruction being used as the excuse to invade Iraq. This resulted in the US being mired in a bloody civil war. What happened to getting the “evildoers”?

The network of “evildoers” seems to have not been affected one bit after 6 years of bloodshed! Something was flawed with the “war on terror” from the start.

One might say that at least we got Saddam, so that would be a small victory in the war on terror. Not really. Saddam wouldn’t be considered an “evildoer” in the big scheme of things, as has been proven. Yes, he was an asshole, a major asshole, but the world is full of assholes, so it looks as though Bush’s war on terror was headed in the wrong direction from the start.
