If I Were Obama, I’d Be Checking My Brake Lines

Brake lines, toothpaste, watching for falling grand pianos, etc, etc. Why, you may ask? Because Hillary is not done, not done yet at all!

Hillary is vowing to stay in the Democratic race, even though climbing Mount Everest might seem to be a little more achievable than her pulling off the Democratic nomination. The numbers just aren’t there for her campaign any longer. Her campaign piggy bank is full of IOU’s to her self to the tune of $6.4 million, and regardless of what ‘math’ she uses it just doesn’t add up to Clinton getting the nomination nod.

Even using logic that is a stretch from reality, it still seems unlikely that will emerge as the victor. She claims that by seating the Florida and Michigan delegates, she’s right back in the thick of it. And IF the Democratic party used the same system of delegating votes as the Republicans, then she claims she would have the nomination already sewn up. Well, she can count the delegates of Florida and Michigan all she wants, but at the present time they don’t count because the two States were stripped of their delegates for moving the dates of their votes. Yes, it’s shitty that their votes do not count, but their politicians knew of the ramifications they would face if they proceeded to move their voting dates beforehand. Rules are rules. If there is some way to seat the delegates fairly, then lets do it. But as of right now, their votes cannot, and should not be counted. As far as her claim of the Republican Party system giving her the nomination, that may be true. But the Democratic party doesn’t subscribe to their system, so why would she even bring it up as an arguing point for her campaign? Reality check time!

There are only two ways I can see Hillary pulling off the nomination. The first way is some serious kissing ass, along with back room bribery of the Superdelegates remaining to get as many defectors to jump to her side of the playpen. Although a likely plan, it would surely be suicide for the Democratic party’s unity. The second way, would be to push Obama off a cliff. But even that would not necessarily give Clinton an edge. You see, Obama has survived everything Clinton has thrown at him, and he still walks away smelling like a rose, so I doubt whether a cut brake line will slow him down any!

Let’s hope that her pleas for her supporters to send money to her campaign is the last embarrassing thing she does in this race.

Hillary Gets Ass Kicked In N.C. And Calls It Progress

It almost sounds as if Hillary Clinton took a page out of George Bush’s playbook by declaring she made progress in the N.C. primary vote by getting her ass handed to her by opponent Barrack Obama.

We are used to hearing the rhetoric from the Bushies who claim that progress in Iraq is being made because violence is down, AND it also shows that progress is being made when violence is up as well. But to hear it coming from the Clinton camp too?

Hillary’s chief strategist Geoff Garin proclaimed that Obama’s drubbing of Clinton by 14 points showed real progress was made by Hillary because she did better among white voters there than she did in Virginia.

Great. That must be comforting for her to realize that she is making inroads to getting more of the “white” vote! This claim of making “progress” in getting the “white” vote is now the reasoning behind her argument that she’s the more electable Democrat come the general election.

Keep dreaming Hillary! A vote is a vote is a vote. A vote doesn’t have color, it’s a “yes” for you, or a “yes” for your opponent. In the end, the person who has the most “yesses” wins. And judging by the number of “yes” votes for her opponent, its safe to say that the voters have made it known that Barrack Obama is the most electable candidate come November.

It’s over Hillary, time to unplug the spin machine.

Obama Jettisoned the Weight. Can We Move On Now?

Politics and Religion, a caustic mix if there ever was one. The two thought processes are better left separated in their own little worlds, and never the twain should meet. There has been much hype about the Reverend Jeremiah Wright’s church and his relationship with his parishioners, namely one Barrack Obama. And thanks to the media storm that has surrounded their particular relationship, it seems that everybody now has an opinion on the situation.

Unfortunately these opinions were made over every possible twist the media could find to put on their headlines. It was shameless and it was ruthless, especially the You Tube videos of Wright’s sermons that were cut and spliced and taken out of context of what his message was. They were taken way out of context, but sometimes ‘context’ doesn’t sell newspapers nowadays does it?

I’m not defending Jeremiah Wright by any stretch of the imagination, because he did say some things that I don’t particularly agree with. But that’s my right, as well as his. This used to be a country where freedom of speech was encouraged, and vigorously defended. The only problem with Wright’s sermons as of late was that one of the church’s parishioners decided to run for President of the United States of America. Then all hell broke loose!

The only mistake Obama committed while the media was having a feeding frenzy at his and Wright’s expense was not realizing that he should have nipped the problem in the butt long before it became an issue. What Barrack did today, he should have done long ago, not only for political career, but also for his relationship with wright and his church. But now, after all is said and done and the dust is settling, the damage has been done.

I find it ironic that the media got their panties all bunched up over things that Rev. Wright said, and turned it on Obama as if they were his words and thoughts, but yet gave John McCain and Rev. Hagee a free pass over his views that God destroyed New Orleans because of it’s sinful ways.

If anybody should be have to answer for their actions in this debacle, it is the media people who perpetrated this monster in the first place! But now that Obama has done what he has needed to do, and that is sever the cord between himself and Rev. Wright, its time to move on and proceed with the business of politics. Because that’s what this election is all about, politics and not religion.

McCain Confused As To How Much 18 Cents Will Buy

Senator John McCain accused Democratic presidential hopeful Barrack Obama today of being insensitive to poor people and out of touch with economic issues. McCain thinks that he is Omnipotent of all things economic, he based his criticism on the fact that Obama opposes McCain’s idea of a fuel tax “holiday” for the summer months. Who’s the one out of touch again?

John McCain seems to think that a “holiday” from the Federal fuel tax of 18 cents per gallon is going to make a difference in people’s wallets this summer, so anybody who opposes it is of course out of touch. It seems that Mr. McCain is the one out of touch, because a savings of 18 off per gallon of gasoline at the pumps this summer will amount to a couple of bucks for the average motorist. Wow, a few extra bucks to splurge, thanks John!

McCain equates his fuel tax “holiday” as a break for low-income Americans, because “low-income people usually have older cars that guzzle more gas,” and his proposal would allow these low-income Americans to “travel a little further and a little longer, and maybe have a little bit of money left over to enjoy some other things in their lives.” Way to look at the big picture John!

Seeing as John was born in 1936, maybe he’s forgotten exactly how much 18 cents will buy now as compared to then. When he was 18 years old, in 1954 for example a gallon of gas cost 21 cents a gallon, and you could buy a brand spankin’ new American made gas guzzler for around $1,700.00! Once you factor in for inflation, a dollar in the 50’s is worth only about 12 cents today. So in the 50’s 18 cents would of bought 3 ice cream cones (roughly 5 cents each), as compared to today where 18 cents mike get you a lick of one!

So instead of insulting the “low-income American” by claiming a temporary reprieve of paying the gas tax at the pumps this summer, will make a whole lot of difference to their quality of life, which it won’t, how about some possible solutions to the problem? We already know he will take care of the wealthy by making Bush’s tax cuts permanent, but what about the single mother earning one wage who shudders at the grocery check out till when she has to pay nearly $4.00 for a gallon of milk for her children!

Who’s the one that is really out of touch with the average American, I wonder? If McCain gets his way, I hope he will understand why we subdue our “temporary gratitude” towards his “temporary generosity.”

Poll: Clinton Snobbier Than The Rest

In a recent poll conducted by Gallup, the question was asked “Do you think (random order candidate) looks down on the average American?” You’ll be surprised to learn that among those polled, 32% felt that Clinton looks down on the average American, as compared to 26% by Obama!

Photobucket
Whe respects average Americans Less?

So all the bunched up rantings by Clinton about how Obama is an “elitest, and looks down on Americans” seem to have have backfired in her face! The numbers are even worse for her when the question was changed to “look down on Blue collar workers,” where she scored 32%, but Obama only got 25%.

Photobucket
And how about the blue collar workers?

Hillary is in Indiana strutting her stuff like she is king shit of turd island, proclaiming that “the people have spoken” in Pennsylvania, and she is ready to accept the DNC coronation at any time! Well, maybe Hillary should take a look at this poll and realize that her negative campaign against Barrack over his “bitter” remarks have made her out to look like the elitest.

It will be interesting to see how Hillary will manage to dig herself in a deeper credibility hole in Indiana. Something I’m not really looking forward to seeing again!
