Like Cheney Gives a Rat’s Ass!

During an interview this morning on ABC’s Good Morning America, Cheney was asked his opinion of a recent poll indicating that two-thirds of Americans now think the war was not worth fighting. Cheney’s response, “So?”

He added: “I think we cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations of
the public opinion polls. There has in fact been fundamental change and
transformation and improvement for the better. That’s a huge
accomplishment.”

“Public opinion polls are for pussies,” has always been Cheney’s mantra in the past, so why should it change now? When was the last time the Bush Administration was swayed by what the public wants or thinks? My question though is what “fundamental change and
transformation and improvement for the better,” is he talking about?

I would think that being the Vice President, one would and should be a little more careful with his words when talking about the citizens of the country he represents. “So,” just doesn’t cut it, especially when responding to a poll regarding a war he had a vital hand in planning. Trillions of dollars gone, and nearing 4000 American lives lost because of his war, and all he has to say is “So!”

Pitiful!

KBR Peddles Tainted Water to Troops

Troops in Iraq fell sick using “unmonitored and potentially unsafe” water supplied by the military and a contractor once owned by Vice President Dick Cheney’s former company, KBR.

Is it not bad enough that KBR, screws us the taxpayers by unscrupulusley dodging millions of dollars in taxes, then they screw the troops in Iraq by not providing the most basic, simplest, most fundamental basic need for survival, water!

KBR said its water treatment “has met or exceeded all applicable military and contract standards.” The company took exception to many of the inspector general’s assertions. “KBR’s commitment to the safety of all of its employees remains unwavering,” the company said in a statement to the AP. Well, if that were the case, then why are troops getting sick form YOUR water?

Equipment shortages, substandard gear, and now tainted water, a fundamental staple of life are being forced on the troops. Bush’s war is costing this country billions of dollars, and now the war profiteers are scrimping on water! How embarrassing. And they keep screaming how important it is to show our support for the troops!

Insult to injury as wounded soldiers asked to return signing bonuses

This latest report makes my stomach turn. It embarrasses me, and then it infuriates me, until finally I throw up in disgust.

The U.S. Military is demanding that thousands of wounded service personnel give back signing bonuses because they are unable to serve out their commitments. To get people to sign up, the military gives enlistment bonuses up to $30,000 in some cases.

Now men and women who have lost arms, legs, eyesight, hearing and can no longer serve are being ordered to pay some of that money back.

So remind me again, who exactly isn’t supporting our troops? President Bush, you’re an embarrassment to this country.

There is right. There is wrong. Then there is Conservative Politics

This is the biggest load of crap I’ve heard coming from the Senate in a long time now.

It seems there are a few Republicans facing election fights next year, so they are rallying around war legislation calling for an end to U.S. combat in Iraq, but only AFTER Bush is almost out of office!

That’s awfully brave of these “maverick” politicians isn’t it? Come out and agree that the U.S. military should end their combat role in Iraq, but only after their Boss is gone! The brave republicans are ready to take up the fight to end the war, only they want to participate after their enemy has folded up the tent! Disgusting.

What a bunch of spineless politicians. Come election time, these people should be voted out of office on principle alone.

Co-sponsors of the bill include Sen. Lamar Alexander of Tennessee, Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina and Norm Coleman of Minnesota. Of the sponsors, only Voinovich is not up for re-election in 2008. If these bums are on your ballot next year, I hope you will do the right thing and ignore them!
